TOLEDO THE CHARGE: The Rochester Red Wings tonight play the 3rd game of their 4-game series at Toledo (Tigers), continuing an 8-game roadtrip that started with a 3-1 series win at Columbus (Indians) and a pair of wins to start this set at Fifth Third Field. Rochester returns to Frontier Field Monday for a 6-game homestand, which includes a 4-game series against Empire State (Yankees) and a 2-game set against Pawtucket (Red Sox).

PERSONNEL NEWS: Right-handed pitcher P.J. Walters tonight is making a rehab start at Toledo, his 3rd since the Twins placed him on the 15-Day Disabled List June 14 with right shoulder inflammation. His other starts came July 1 vs. Empire State and July 6 vs. Pawtucket before he was recalled from rehab due to the same injury.

a Righthander Esmerling Vasquez, who was originally scheduled to start tonight, will back up Walters out of the bullpen.

a Lefthander Pedro Hernandez, who was acquired by the Twins in the Francisco Liriano trade, is scheduled to make his Red Wings' debut Monday vs. Empire State.

BREAKING BAD: The Red Wings have won a season-high 5 games in a row and are above .500 for the first time since being 51-50 after a 5-1 win in the first game of a July 22 doubleheader at Durham (Rays). A victory tonight would make the Wings 2 games above the break-even point for the first time since being 5-3 after a 10-1 loss vs. Pawtucket on April 12. Rochester's season-high watermark was 3 games above .500 at 5-2 after a 2-1 victory vs. Pawtucket on April 11.

a The Red Wings' 5-game winning streak is the Red Wings' longest since a 5-game run August 10-14, 2010. That streak started with the 2nd game of an August 10 doubleheader. A victory tonight would give Rochester its longest winning streak since a 6-game streak August 4-9, 2008.

a The 5-game winning streak is the longest active winning streak in the International League.

a The Wings have also won a season-high 5 straight road games. It is Rochester's longest road winning streak since April 28-May 2, 2007, when they won 5 in a row away from Frontier Field. A victory tonight would give the Red Wings their longest road winning streak since at least 2004.

WINNING WAYS: At 57-56, the Red Wings are off to their best 113-game start since 2007, when they were 61-52. The 2011 club was 25 games under .500 at 44-69 at this point last season and finished 53-91. The 2010 team was 33 games below .500 at 40-73 at this juncture and went on to finish only 49-95.

ROAD TO SUCCESS: The Red Wings are just 21-30 in true road games, but they have won 5 straight, 9 of their last 13, and 10 of their last 15 away from Frontier Field. Rochester has won only 3 road series all year, winning 3 of 4 games at Louisville (Reds) June 14-17, Norfolk July 16-19, and Columbus.

PICKING UP THE PACE: Since managing only one hit July 27 vs. Syracuse (Nationals), the Red Wings' offense has logged 10 or more hits in a season-high 6 straight games. They are batting .322 (79-for-245) during the 6-game tear.

a The Wings have logged 10 or more hits in at least 6 consecutive games for the first time August 13-19, 2009, when they had an 8-game streak.

NO ONE LEFT BEHIND: The Red Wings enter tonight's game against lefthander Casey Crosby having won 7 games in a row with an opposing left-handed starter. The Wings last lost a contest with a southpaw on the hill June 30, when they fell 6-4 to Empire State and its lefty starter Mike O'Connor.

Parmelee is batting .439 (25-for-57) with 17 RBI during the streak. He has also hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games, batting .408 (31-for-76).

a A hit by Parmelee tonight would give him the longest hitting streak by a Red Wing since Matt Tolbert's 14-game tear over 2 stints with the club May 20-August 19, 2010. A hit by Parmelee tonight would give him the longest hitting streak by a Red Wing in the same stint since Danny Valencia's 20-gamer April 24-May 16, 2010.

a Parmelee has also recorded an RBI in 8 straight games (13 total), the longest such streak by a Red Wing since at least 2004.

Walters would give Red Wings' starting pitchers 3 straight victories for the first time since August 12-14, 2008, when Philip Humber, Kevin Mulvey, and Anthony Swarzak accomplished the feat. Liam Hendriks and Shairon Martis both posted wins over the last 2 days to put the Wings in this spot.
