Bridgeport Islanders News Release
BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have named Paul Falanga their Youth Hockey All-Star for the month of January.
Paul, 13, scored 22 goals and notched 17 assists in 14 games for the East Haven Bantam A Team in January. The eighth-grader from St. Vincent's School was also the most valuable player at the Kennedy Tournament in Rhode Island last month. Paul has also played summer hockey in Milford and skated for Team Connecticut squads that have competed in tournaments as far away as Nova Scotia.
Coach Anthony DiLungo says Paul is "a smart and talented player, a great teammate and one of those kids you just love to coach." In addition, DiLungo points out that Paul has never made a trip to the penalty box.
Paul is a huge Sound Tigers fan who comes to as many games as he can.
