Wolves' Wives Have A Surprise In Mind
February 2, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves' wives will be selling exclusive Valentine's Day autographed pucks during their annual fundraiser at home games on Wed., Feb. 8; Sat., Feb. 11; Wed., Feb. 22 and Sat., Feb. 25.
These specially wrapped pucks, which contain candy and the autograph of a surprise Wolves player, can be purchased for $10. Fans who buy a puck that has a Wolves player's name signed in gold will have the chance to meet that player after the game. The Wolves wives will be selling pucks in the East, North and South Concourses of the Allstate Arena.
In addition, fans can bid on the chance to have lunch with Wolves players Braydon Coburn, Mark Popovic and Karl Stewart, and dinner with Scott Barney and his wife Tara, Brian Maloney and his wife Jackie, Travis Roche and his wife Darcie, or Nick Naumenko and his fiancée Brooke.
The bidding will begin when doors open for the Wed., Feb. 8 game against the Syracuse Crunch and end at the end of the second intermission of the Sat., Feb. 25 contest against the Cleveland Barons.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to charities associated with former Wolves center Dan Snyder, the Y-Me Breast Cancer Organization and the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation. Snyder, a member of the 2002 Calder Cup Championship team who spent two seasons with Chicago (2001-2003), passed away on Oct. 5, 2003, six days after suffering major head injuries in a car accident.
