Regina Pats News Release

Week In Review:

February 24th, 2009 Regina Pats 2 @ Swift Current Broncos 5

The Pats began their three game road swing last night in Swift Current and it had a promising start. Jordan Eberle scored his 32nd of the season on a one-timer for a 1-0 lead after the first. From there it was poor discipline by the Pats that did them in as the Broncos went 3/7 with the man-advantage en rout to the 5-2 win. The Pats had just a single power play, and didn't cash in, while Eberle missed on a penalty shot. The loss ended a 2 game winning streak which at that point got the Pats back into the playoff race.

February 25th, 2009 Regina Pats 3 @ Calgary Hitmen 6

It was a great start for the Pats against the number two team in the CHL this past Wednesday, as Mitch Czibere opened the scoring early, finishing a 2-on-1 from Jordan Eberle. A back and forth 1st saw the game tied till late in the opening session, but goals from Brett Sonne and Joel Broda had the Hitmen head to the locker room up 4-2. From there it was all Hitmen, cruising to the 6-3 win. Alex Pym and Victor Bartley also scored for the Pats, who were out shot 50-15 for the game.

February 27th, 2009 Regina Pats 3 @ Kootenay Ice 5

Ed Chynoweth night in Cranbrook was all Kootenay ice, as they dominated the first period and lead 2-0, from there they cruised to the 5-3 win. Neal Prokop, Colten Teubert, and Matt Delahey all scored for the Pats in the loss, with the power play going 1/6 and giving up a shorthanded goal.
