CHILLIWACK BC - The Vancouver Giants broke a close game wide open, as they scored four times in the second period to defeat the Chilliwack Bruins 6-2 and wrap up their season series against the Bruins with a 9-1 record.

Brent Regner scored a pair of goals for the G-Men in the victory, while Evander Kane, Craig Cunningham, Brendan Gallagher and Bronson Maschmeyer also scored for Vancouver. For Maschmeyer, it was his first WHL goal. Tyson Sexsmith picks up the win and the Giants go 5-0 for the week to move their record to 54-7-1-3. With the win, the Giants move just two points back of the Calgary Hitmen for the WHL points lead. The Giants now have 112 points with two games in hand over the Hitmen.

Vancouver begins a GIANT week of hockey this Wednesday, as they take on the US Division leading Tri City Americans. The Giants have a 2-1 record over Tri City this season and look to win the season series for the first time since 2007. You can catch all the WHITE SPOT GIANTS HOCKEY action on AM 650. Brook Ward will host the pre game show with Bill Wilms from the Pacific Dining Lounge at 6:30 pm, while Dave Sheldon and Bill will have the call of all of the action at 7 pm from the Pacific Coliseum.
