Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday inside the Brandt Centre, as the Pats conclude their five game homestand on the eve of a two game road trip to Alberta.

The Pats picked up four of a possible six points over their three-in-three weekend, going 2-1, defeating Winnipeg and Red Deer before a 5-2 loss on Sunday to Saskatoon. The game Pats led 1-0 after one and were tied 2-2 after two before the Blades mustered together three unanswered goals in the third period.

Sam Oremba (1G-1A) and Alexander Suzdalev scored for the Pats while Stanislav Svozil tallied two assists and Drew Sim made 32 saves. The Pats finished 0-3 on the power play and 1-1 on the penalty kill. The Pats winning streak came to an end at six games and they are now 10-3 over their last 13 home games.

The Edmonton Oil Kings have lost 11 straight games following an 8-0 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday at Rogers Place. Their current 11 game skid is the third longest in the WHL this season, and the longest active skid.

The Oil Kings are coming off a 50-14-3-1 season with 104 points which was good for second in the WHL, eventually leading to their third WHL championship (2012, 2014, 2022), in their fourth finals appearance in the last 10 years, defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds in six games. They reached the Memorial Cup where they went 1-1-1.

Bedard is also one goal away from 60, and if he scores 60 today, he will become the fifth fastest player in franchise history to 60 goals as he plays his 49th game of the season today, joining this list:

BY THE NUMBERS

123: Number of points (59G-64A) in 48 games for captain Connor Bedard leads the WHL...his 59 goals are tops and 64 assists are first...since having his 35-game point-streak end on Feb. 3, he's recorded 33 points (15G-18A) over his last 11 games, with points in 10 of those.

36: Goals for Alexander Suzdalev leads all WHL rookies...he has points in 16 of his last 20 games (15G-16A-31PTS) as well as points six straight games (6G-4A) and goals four of his last five (6G)...his 78 points are tied for eighth in the WHL.
