HEADLINES

Regina Pats goaltender Matthew Kieper and defenceman Layton Feist have each cracked NHL Central Scouting's 2022 NHL Draft Mid-Season Rankings, which were announced Wednesday. Kieper, a 2004-born, is ranked 17th among North American goalies and fifth among WHL goaltenders while Feist, also a 2004-born, is ranked 193rd among North American skaters.

Connor Bedard's four goal game, including the overtime winner on 1-1-22 (OTW vs. MJ, 7-6) was his first career WHL hat-trick, let alone four goal game. He is the youngest player to score four goals in a game in the WHL since 1996-97 (16-years-old, 5 months, 15 days).

The Pats made two moves on Monday, acquiring 2001-born defenceman Neithan Salame from the Brandon Wheat Kings via WHL waivers, and forward Logan Linklater from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for a conditional eighth round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

The Regina Pats are 8-7 since they parted ways with Dave Struch on November 18th, with John Paddock taking over as the Head Coach...they've been outscored 62-to-60 during that time, while being outshot in seven of those 15 games, with equal shots twice (517SF / 498SA).

BY THE NUMBERS

5: Wins over the Pats last six home games...during that span, the club has outscored their opponent 40-to-24...this is versus their current season high five game road losing-streak heading into tonight's action where they've been outscored 28-to-14 during that time.

7: Consecutive games with a goal for Pats captain Logan Nijhoff is tied for the longest in the WHL this season...the Comox Valley, B.C., native has 13 points (7G-6A) during that span...he is one goal away from 50 in his career and recently played game #200 (12-29-21 vs. WPG).

8: Number of points (3G-5A) for Pats defenceman Layton Fiest over his last seven contests...The Dawson Creek, B.C., native recorded a career high four points (1G-3A) on December 27th vs. EDM...he tallied five goals and nine points in 21 games last season as a 16-year-old.

13: Points (8G-5A) over Connor Bedard's last five games...the North Vancouver, B.C., native also has goals in six of his last eight games with 10 goals over that time...he is second in the WHL in shots (145) after he had a career high 13 last game...he leads the Pats in goals with 18, but has scored just once on the power play this season.

30.8: Shooting percentage for Pats 16-year-old forward Tanner Howe is first in the WHL...the Prince Albert, SK, native is tied for second amongst 16-year-old rookies in goals (12), and fourth in points (25)...he is tied for second among all rookies in PPG (6) and tied for third in GWG (3).
