Tonight's Matchup: The Brandon Wheat Kings wrap up a four-game, week-long Alberta road trip this afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Brandon is 1-1-1-0 on the trip so far and will look to take two points from the Hitmen back to the Wheat City.

Last Time Out: 5-3 L @ Edmonton: Dylan Guenther and Jake Neighbours scored four minutes apart in the third period to lift the Oil Kings to a 5-3 win at Rogers Place yesterday afternoon. Carson Bjarnason made his second straight start and kicked aside 38 shots in the losing effort. Ridly Greig, Vinny Iorio and Landon Roberts scored the BWK goals.

NEWS & NOTES:

Back to Back for Barney: Carberry, MB native Carson Bjarnason started for the second straight night and turned in another solid performance, making 38 saves in a losing effort in Edmonton. Bjarnason hadn't started in consecutive games since November 5th and 6th vs Red Deer and Regina and has only done it one other time in his WHL career.

Greig = Goals: Since returning from the World Juniors, RIdly Greig has scored four times and added three assists in just three games. He leads the team with 18 goals despite only playing in 22 games this season.

PK Work: The Wheat Kings have killed off 10 of the 12 minor penalties on this road trip so far, including an impressive five for five yesterday vs the Oil Kings. Brandon has the 9th ranked penalty kill in the WHL at 79.3% and is second in shorthanded goals with seven.

New Guy in Town: The Wheat Kings have recalled defenseman Charlie Elick from the Edge Hockey Academy. The 6'2" defenseman was the 3rd overall pick in December's WHL Prospects Draft. The Calgary native could make his WHL debut this afternoon.
