Somerset Patriots News Release
Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the York Revolution 4-1 before 7,005 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon.
The Patriots took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. After Jonny Tucker led off the inning with a single, Aharon Eggleston followed with an RBI triple. Eggleston then scored on an RBI single by Eddy Martinez-Esteve.
York cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the fourth on a double play.
The Patriots extended the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run single by Ty Wright for a 4-1 lead.
Patriots starter Derell McCall (2-1) picked up the win, allowing a run on four hits in 5.2 innings pitched. York starter Chris Cody (3-2) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on six hits in six innings pitched. Jon Hunton earned his tenth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.
The 2014 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Thursday night with a 7:05 pm game against the York Revolution.
