Camden Riversharks News Release

The Camden Riversharks will host their last Baseball in Education game of the 2014 season this Thursday, June 5th at 11:00am. 6,300 tickets have already been sold to both New Jersey and Philadelphia schools. New Jersey Attorney General John Jay Hoffman is scheduled to be in attendance at Campbell's Field and will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game.

The "˜Sharks Baseball in Education games marry education and baseball in a fun, relaxed setting outside of the classroom. The in-game programming educates students in a wide array of subjects and grade levels including mathematics, grammar and geography. The field trip acts as a tool to culminate the school year and reward the students for their hard work and dedication in the classroom, while also connecting lessons learned during the school's curriculum.

"Our Baseball in Education program provides a great means to integrate the Riversharks and America's pastime with the importance of education throughout the community," states Riversharks President and General Manager Adam Lorber. "This program allows us to demonstrate how classroom lessons can be implemented in everyday life, and we are very excited about the continued growth of the program."

The program has been a staple to the Camden Riversharks organization for ten years, and continues to grow substantially throughout the surrounding New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities. This season, alone, the program has reached schools from as far as Egg Harbor Township and New Brunswick in New Jersey as well as West Chester Pennsylvania .

Traditionally, over 15,000 students each year participate during our Baseball In Education Days, with hundreds of schools finding the value in the program. This Thursday promises to be the most successful Baseball in Education game throughout its tenure, as the program continues to expand in size and reach.

The New Jersey Attorney General's message to participating students and all children throughout the area is clear: "Hit a grand slam in life: study hard and swing for the fences."
