The Somerset Patriots defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-3 on Friday night in game four of a six-game set at TD Bank Ballpark.

LHP Brock Selvidge (5 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 2 K) earned his second consecutive win, throwing five innings while allowing only an earned run.

The Yankees No. 10 prospect has allowed only 1 ER over his last 12 IP dating back to 4/27 in Reading, striking out 13 over that span. Selvidge's 1.73 ERA leads qualified Patriots pitchers, while his 1.15 WHIP over five starts ranks second.

RHP Carlos Gomez (2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 2 K) threw two shutout, no-hit innings in relief, marking his second consecutive scoreless outing. Gomez now owns a 0.73 ERA this season over seven appearances, totaling 12.1 IP with 9 K and only 1 ER.

SS Ben Cowles (1-for-4, RBI) tied the ballgame at two with an RBI single in the 3rd inning. Cowles extended his on-base streak to 11 games, over which he's 15-for-42 (.357) with 10 RBI, 3 HR, and 8 R.

Cowles was named the Eastern League's Player of the Month for April on Friday afternoon, after leading the league with a .351 average and 1.056 OPS, in addition to 3 HR and 14 RBI in his first 21 games of the 2024 season.

C Ben Rice (2-for-3, RBI, 2 BB) extended his hit streak to seven games, over which he's 10-for-24 (.416) with 6 R and 3 RBI.

Rice now has eight multi-hit games this season, tied with Cowles for the team lead. The Yankees No. 12 prospect is 6-for-13 over the first four games of the series vs. New Hampshire with a home run and 2 RBI.
