
Patriots Crush Riversharks 12-3

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks 12-3 in front of 5,184 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening.
The Patriots exploded in the third to take the lead on RBI base hits by Bobby Stevens, Jonny Tucker, and Josh Kroeger. Jake Fox followed with an RBI double and Corey Smith grounded into a fielder's choice for two more runs to make the score 5-0.
Camden cut the lead to 5-2 in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Paddy Matera and an RBI ground out by Delwyn Young.
Somerset rallied to plate six more runners in the bottom of the fifth highlighted by a two-run blast over the left field wall by Luis Montanez (2) for the 11-2 lead.
Camden brought home a run in the eighth on an RBI single by Chris Walker.
The Patriots tacked on a final run in the bottom of the eighth after James Skelton came around to score on a wild pitch to make the score 12-3.
Patriots starter David Harden (4-0) got the win after allowing two runs in five innings of work. Keith Weiser (1-4) suffered the loss for Camden, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits in four innings pitched.
The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Sunday afternoon when the Patriots take on the Camden Riversharks at 1:05 pm.
