The Skeeters improved to 24-5, after Saturday's 2-1 win over the Bridgeport Bluefish. Jason Lane once again was terrific, going six innings, allowing two hits and only one run. The Skeeters used two Josh Pressley doubles to score their runs. The Skeeters were clinging to a 2-1 lead after six, when Manager Gary Gaetti handed the ball over to his bullpen. Roberto Giron, Gary Majewski and Jason Bergmann combined for three scoreless innings to finish it. The Skeeters hung on to win 2-1.
Up Next: The Skeeters are home again Sunday for a 1:35 p.m. game. Tossing for the Skeeters is RHP Matt Wright (4-0, 2.93 ERA), and he is opposed on the mound by Bluefish RHP Michael Colla (2-2, 4.71 ERA). Sunday begins with "Catch on the Field," brought to you by Dr. Larry Caldwell, as well as Ladies Day Out and a Diamond Dig after the game, sponsored by Elegant Jewelers.
