Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Somerset Patriots (36-19) split a double-header with the Erie SeaWolves (33-31) on Wednesday at TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots took game one 6-1 and the SeaWolves rallied for a 4-3 game two victory.

All the runs in the first game were scored on the long ball. Oswaldo Cabrera led the way with two home runs (9,10) and five RBI.

Josh Lester put Erie in front with a solo shot (10) in the second. Isiah Gilliam (3) tied up the game before Cabrera's two-run homer gave Somerset the lead.

Cabrera's second was a three-run blast in the fifth inning to put the game away.

Ken Waldichuk (W, 2-0) allowed a run on three hits and six strikeouts for the win.

The teams continued to go deep in game two. Spencer Torkelson hit a solo home run (6) to center in the first and Diego Castillo tied up the game with another (11) in the third.

Dermis Garcia's RBI double off the wall in left gave Somerset the lead in the fourth. Jason Lopez added an RBI groundout in the inning for a 3-1 advantage.

Drew Ward's three-run home run (4) in the sixth gave the SeaWolves the lead and the 4-3 final.

Janson Junk allowed a run and struck out six over five innings of work in a no decision. Addison Russ (L, 0-1) suffered the loss after he allowed three runs on two hits in an inning pitched.

The Patriots and SeaWolves continue the series at TD Bank Ballpark with a 7:05 pm game on Thursday evening.
