SOUTHAVEN, MS – Memphis RiverKings captain Don Parsons and assistant captain Derek Landmesser enjoyed a very successful stay in Albuquerque this week, as both players participated in the Dodge CHL All-Star Game played Thursday.

Parsons, who was voted to the Northern Conference team as a starter, and Landmesser, who was selected as a reserve, participated in both the all-star game and the skills competition, held yesterday at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Landmesser, who took part in the Hardest Shot competition prior to the contest, won the category with his first shot. The RiverKings defenseman ripped a 92 mph slapshot on his first try, besting efforts by Oklahoma City's Tyler Fleck and Corpus Christi's Mike Tilson, whose shots were clocked at 91 mph.

Parsons also took part in the skills competition, tying for second place in the Accuracy Shoot-out.

In the Dodge All-Star Game, both players were outstanding, with Parsons especially so. Parsons scored four points, including two goals and two assists, while Landmesser contributed two points on the night, both of them assists. Parsons' four points were tied for the most in the game with fellow Northern Conference teammates Greg Pankewicz (1G, 3A) from Colorado, and Jason Baird (3G, 1A) from Indianapolis. Baird's hat trick netted him MVP honors for the game.

The Northern Conference All-Stars emerged victorious in the contest, winning 12-9. A record crowd of 10,152 fans were in attendance.

Parsons and Landmesser will now return to the Mid-South for the first game of this weekend's crucial series versus Baird and the Indianapolis Ice. The RiverKings will host the Ice this evening at 7:05 pm at the DeSoto Civic Center.

Tonight's contest is Miller Lite Racing Night, with the RiverKings sporting special racing-themed jerseys. An on-ice jersey auction will ensue immediately after the game.
