Baird Nets CHL All-Star MVP Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Ice forward Jason Baird was named the Most Valuable Player of the CHL All-Star game last night in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the Northern Conference defeated the Southern Conference in a high-scoring affair 12-9.

Baird led the charge for the "North" with a hat trick and an assist in front of a CHL All-Star record crowd of 10,152 at Tingley Coliseum. Baird now joins his teammates for a critical three-game series this weekend with the defending CHL champion Memphis RiverKings.

The two division rivals square off tonight in Memphis at 8:05 p.m. then head to the "Circle City" for back to back games in Indianapolis. Saturday night's 7:00 p.m. contest from Conseco Fieldhouse is "Pack the House Night" with this years' beneficiaries being the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation-Indiana and the Indianapolis Jr. Ice Hockey Program. In addition, the players will be wearing special jerseys designed by the children at St. Vincent Children's Hospital.

After Saturday night's downtown clash, the two clubs close out the weekend three-set with a Sunday matinee at 5:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum.
