
Palmer Records 27-Save Shutout, Tips Stay Alive with 5-0 Victory

EVERETT, Wash. - Tyler Palmer pitched a 27-save shutout to keep the Silvertips alive in the Western Conference Quarterfinal, edging the Portland Winterhawks 5-0 in Game 4 Friday night.
Cade Zaplitny opened the scoring for the Silvertips 2:49 into play, fielding a Jesse Heslop pass from behind the net for a sharp-angle goal, his first of the postseason. Beau Courtney extended the lead at 4:14, tucking in a goal off a Matthew Paszkiewicz rebound for his first career playoff tally.
Jackson Berezowski deflected a powerplay goal home at 19:08 in the second period, giving the Tips a 3-0 lead heading into the third period.
Roan Woodward extended the lead at 2:24 in the third period, powering to the net and dangling out Jan Špunar for his first goal of the postseason. Austin Roest added his third goal of the playoffs at 14:49 to lock in a 5-0 final for Everett.
Tyler Palmer turned aside all 27 shots for his first career playoff victory. Špunar stopped 31 of 36 for Portland.
Game 5 is scheduled for 6 p.m. tomorrow at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland. Game 6 if necessary, will be played at Angel of the Winds Arena on Monday night at 7:05 p.m.
