FREDERICK, MD- Preston Palmeiro drove in all three runs in the Frederick Keys (9-17) 3-0 victory over the Salem Red Sox (15-11) on Wednesday night at Nymeo Field. It was the Keys second shutout of the year, and the three RBIs marked a season-high for Palmeiro.

In the second, Palmeiro plated his first two runs with one swing. After Ryan McKenna doubled, Palmeiro launched a home run to left center field off of Red Sox starter Tanner Houck. The home run extended his team lead to four, and ended an 0-for-17 skid with runners in scoring position for the Keys.

Palmeiro would add his third RBI in the seventh. McKenna walked, and Palmeiro doubled down the right field line to score McKenna all the way from first and make it a 3-0 game.

Cristian Alvarado (3-2) earned the victory for the Keys. The right-hander tossed 5.2 scoreless innings and scattered six hits. He walked one and struck out a season-high eight. Houck (1-3) took the loss for Salem. He threw five innings and pitched to one batter in the sixth, allowing three hits while walking three and striking out one. James Teague picked up his second save of the year with a perfect ninth inning.
