Pair of top hurlers set to make Double-A debuts this week

Two of the top pitching prospects in Minor League Baseball, Cole Hamels, a member of the Philadelphia organization, and Anibal Sanchez, a member of the Boston organization, are each expected to make their Double-A debut in the Eastern League this week.

Hamels, ranked by Baseball America as the third best prospect in the Phillies organization prior to the season, is scheduled to make his Double-A debut with Reading in a start against Akron this Wednesday. The 21-year old was 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three starts with Single-A Clearwater this season.

Sanchez is scheduled to make his Double-A debut with Portland later this week, most likely on Thursday or Friday. The 21-year old posted an 8-1 record with a 2.40 ERA in 13 games with Single-A Wilmington this season and was ranked by Baseball America as the fifth best prospect in the Red Sox organization prior to the start of the season.
