Modesto Nuts News Release
Modesto, CA. - A big sixth sank the Modesto Nuts 4-1 against the Visalia Rawhide on Tuesday night at John Thurman Field.
After two straight singles to start the sixth, Austin Byler smashed a two-run triple off Nuts (16-23; 42-67) starter Helmis Rodriguez (L, 2-8). Rodriguez retired the next two Rawhide (18-21; 64-45) hitters before Chad Oberacker lined a RBI double.
That was all Markus Solbach (W, 1-1) needed in six innings. The Rawhide starter allowed just a RBI single to Shane Hoelscher. He allowed four hits while striking out three and walking one.
Yuhei Nakaushiro (S, 2/2) issued a pair of two-out walks but struck out Hoelscher to end the game.
The finale of a three-game series against the Visalia Rawhide is Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 7:00 p.m. Listen live online.
