
Painter Fans Nine in Nightcap; Claws, IronBirds Split Pair on Saturday

ABERDEEN, MD - Jersey Shore and Aberdeen split a double-header on Saturday with the BlueClaws taking the nightcap 4-1 behind four scoreless innings from Andrew Painter.
Jersey Shore (30-55) has taken three of five from the IronBirds (54-31) with the series set to wrap up on Sunday.
Game Two
The BlueClaws took the nightcap 4-1.
Andrew Painter started and threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits, one on a bunt, no walks and struck out nine of the 14 batters he faced. The right hander has 13 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings over his last two starts.
Uziel Viloria opened the scoring with a solo home run with two outs in the third inning. It was his third home run of the season. Casey Martin added a two run double for the BlueClaws in the top of the sixth. Rixon Wingrove doubled in a run in the seventh before Aberdeen got one back off Andrew Schultz.
Albertus Barber threw two scoreless innings in relief for the BlueClaws.
DJ Stewart had two hits and Casey Martin had two doubles in the win.
Game One
Aberdeen took game one 6-0. After the teams played two scoreless innings, John Rhodes doubled home two to give Aberdeen a 2-0 lead. Collin Burns then hit a three run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, his fourth of the season. Burns added a SAC fly in the sixth.
BlueClaws starter Dominic Pipkin (1-4) took the loss, allowing five runs in five innings. Dan Hammer (3-1), who came on in the second for the IronBirds, threw four scoreless innings to earn the win.
Ethan Wilson and Freylin Minyety had the two BlueClaws hits in the loss.
Ben Brown starts for Jersey Shore on Sunday at 2:05 pm in the series finale.
