The Renegades Defeat the Drive

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive missed out on the win after a final score of 6-4 against the Hudson Valley Renegades. Pitcher Chih-Jung Liu for the Drive took the loss after pitching 3.0 innings with an ERA of 6.71.
The Renegades put the first couple of runs up in the first inning when two throwing errors by the Drive allowed Hudson Valley to take two runs and an early lead.
Gilberto Jimenez put in the effort as he hit an RBI double to allow Niko Kavadas to take the run. Greenville only trailed behind by one run at the middle of the fourth.
The Renegades extended their small lead as Tyler Hardman hit a homer at the bottom of the fourth. They continued to keep the Drive at arm's length in the sixth inning where Grant Richardson hit an RBI single to make Hudson Valley lead 4-1.
While Hudson Valley had a decent lead, Kavadas put in a huge effort as he hit a home run at the top of the eighth. However, the Renegades answered with two more runs to put themselves in good shape to win.
An RBI triple from Jaxx Groshans in the ninth gave Greenville some hope to catch up. A sacrifice fly by Antoni Flores allowed another run for the Drive, but Hudson Valley locked up the game afterwards.
The tied series with the Greenville Drive and the Hudson Valley Renegades continues tomorrow at 6:05.
