Pages Bookends Game with Go-Ahead Homers

OGDEN, UT - On Tuesday, August 20, Andy Pages homered on the second pitch of Ogden's final game in Colorado Springs.

The game, suspended that night because of weather, was completed Tuesday at Lindquist Field. Thanks to a two-run Pages blast in the eighth, the Raptors pulled out a 5-2, come-from-behind victory to officially close the book on their final four-game set at the Rocky Mountain Vibes in 2019.

The victory also broke the franchise record for wins in a season, previously held by the 2017 squad's 47 wins. Technically, with this game counting as being played on August 20, it becomes win #45 of the campaign and Monday's 11-5 victory retroactively sets the franchise mark.

Thanks to Pages' first home run, Ogden took a 1-0 lead into the resumption of the suspended game. The final five-plus frames passed quickly; many short innings contributed to just over an hour of play.

The Vibes tied the game in the sixth when Nick Egnatuk homered with two out, and a two-out rally with two hits and an error provided Rocky Mountain - the home team when the game started, so given the same designation in Ogden to complete the contest - a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh.

In the eighth, the first two Raptors were retired. Zac Ching, batting in front of Pages, doubled to go into scoring position as the tying run, and Pages, after swinging through two breaking balls squared up a fastball and put it on the Tar Pit for a 3-2 Raptors lead.

Ogden added to their advantage in the ninth. Ryan Ward laid down a bunt single and Aldrich De Jongh chopped a hit over the first baseman's head to move Ward to third. The pair executed a double steal, with Ward crossing the plate just ahead of the throw home and De Jongh taking second. Two batters later, De Jongh scored on a sacrifice fly for the final tally.

On the mound, Elio Serrano picked up where he left off in the start of the suspended game, completing eight innings while allowing just two runs - one earned - on five hits. Mitchell Tyranski pitched a perfect ninth for his first save.
