
Padlo's Homer Not Enough as Hawks Fall

Spokane, Washington - Kevin Padlo hit his third home run of the season but it was not enough as the Hawks fell to the Everett AquaSox by a score of 7-2.
Colin Welmon received the start for the Hawks and pitched five solid innings, giving up two runs on five hits with four strikeouts.
The Hawks jumped out to an early two-run lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Kevin Padlo connected on a Daren Gillies pitch, sending it high over the left field wall for his third home run of the season.
The AquaSox answered with two runs in the fifth and six innings before a Corey Simpson opposite field home run pushed the Sox lead to 5-2.
Gillies got the start for the AquaSox and picked up the win, pitching five innings and giving up three hits, two walks and two earned runs on the Padlo home run.
Hayden Jones took the loss for the Hawks, pitching one inning and allowing two runs on one hit with one strikeout.
The Sox added two more runs in the ninth inning and Spencer Herrrmann got the save as the Sox took game one of the five-game series by a final score of 7-2.
The Hawks and AquaSox will face off tomorrow night at Memorial Stadium at 7:15 p.m.
Notes: Padlo brought his RBI total to 21 tonight and now trails Corey Simpson (22) for the league RBI lead by just one... Simpson homered on the night for the AquaSox.
