Paccione Tosses Blues past Wachusett

The Blues came away with an exciting 3-2 win off of the excellent pitching performance by Robert Paccione to get the win against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs last night, June 25.
Both teams traded runs for the first seven innings of the matchup but Wachusett just was not able to respond to the winning run in the eighth inning.
Starting pitcher Kyle Dube (Fairfield) pitched five innings and only allowed one run and set himself up for the win, but the Dirt Dawgs were able to break down the door and score one run on reliever Steve Wallace (Desales). Closer Robert Paccione (LIU Post) was able to come away with the win after pitching an inning and two thirds without allowing the run to hold the Blues to a 3-2 win. Losing pitcher for the Dirt Dawgs was Kevin Hasset.
The Blues return to action tonight as they travel to Torrington to compete in the second meeting of the Mayor's cup between the Blues and the Torrington Titans. In the first meeting, the Blues bested the Titans by a score of 7-6. The first pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
