Tonight, the Bristol Blues have won their first ever Futures Collegiate Baseball League playoff game with a 3-1 win over their Connecticut rival the Torrington Titans.
The Blues were led offensively by Gerrad Rohan (Youngstown) who went three for four with an RBI in the win.
Blues starting pitcher George Lund (Roger Williams) pitched seven strong innings, allowing just a single run on two hits in the effort. While Lund picked up the win, Blues pitcher Robert Paccione (LIU Post) picked up the save and Titans pitcher Frank Valentino was given the loss.
With the win, the Blues are back in action tomorrow night, August 13, at Muzzy Field at 7pm to face the Nashua Silver Knights in the FCBL Semifinals. Kyle Dube (Fairfield University) is the probable starter for the Blues.
