Blues Drop Season Finale, Start Playoffs Tuesday

In last night's matchup between two West Division rivals, the Worcester Bravehearts got the best of the Blues by a score of 8-1. With the win last night, the Bravehearts hop up to the sixth seed in the league, making the Torrington Titans the Blues first opponent in the playoffs at the number seven seed, and the Pittsfield Suns will round out the playoff picture at the eighth seed. The Blues still hold the number two seed.

In last night's game Griffin Garabedian (UCONN) led the blues with three hits with Stephen Octave (Franklin Pierce) knocking in the only RBI on the night.

Blues newcomer Matt Curtin (CCSU) pitched 5.2 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and was given the loss. Bravehearts winning pitcher was Kyle Cutler.

The Blues play the first round, single elimination game tomorrow, Tuesday August 11, at Muzzy Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm against the Torrington Titans.
