It took 10 innings, but the Pittsfield Suns (25-30) managed to put away the Torrington Titans (24-28) 9-4 on Sunday at Fuessenich Park.
With the score tied at four, hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Casey McCone.
McCone did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Pittsfield Suns, reaching base five times. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth and tenth innings.
The Torrington Titans were led by a flawless day at the dish by Tim Budd, who went 3-3 against the Pittsfield Suns' pitching. He singled in the second, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.
Kevin Johnson recorded his first win of the year for the Pittsfield Suns. Johnson struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Evan DeVico (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked six, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
