Tacoma Defiance News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC 2 midfielder Pablo Rossi has been voted USL Player of the Week for week one of the 2015 USL season. Rossi earned 65 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media from every USL market.
Rossi earned the honor after a standout performance in S2's inaugural match against defending USL champion Sacramento Republic FC, where he assisted Sam Garza's goal with a lofted through ball in the 70th minute to give S2 a 2-1 lead. He then scored directly with a stunning free-kick in the 75th minute. In addition to being named Player of the Week, Rossi, along with teammates Andy Craven and Giuliano Frano, were named to the USL Team of the Week.
Rossi's efforts led the team to a 4-2 victory over Sacramento. S2 next plays on Sunday, March 29 against Whitecaps FC 2 (4:00 p.m. PT / SoundersFC.com).
