Aztex Launch the Aztex Soccer Foundation

AUSTIN, Texas (Wednesday, March 25, 2015) - As the Austin Aztex begin their inaugural USL season in 2015, the team and management are excited to expand their community focus. Enter the Aztex Soccer Foundation, the new charitable arm of USL's Austin Aztex.
The Aztex Soccer Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit utilizing soccer as a vehicle to serve underprivileged youth. The Foundation's core areas of philanthropic focus are youth scholarships, field refurbishment and development, and partnerships in schools.
"Soccer is a sport that is loved by many in our community," said David Markley, Founder of the Aztex and President of the Foundation. "As Austin's professional team, we want to lead the way by leveraging that passion to help youth in our community participate in sports and further their education."
The Aztex Soccer Foundation is pleased to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas in the Goals for Good campaign. Throughout the 2015 Aztex regular season, fans will have the opportunity to contribute a self-selected amount for every goal the Aztex score at home. All proceeds will be evenly split between the Aztex Soccer Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.
The Aztex Soccer Foundation will have several other fundraising campaigns during the year, including a silent auction of specialty camo jerseys to be worn during Military Appreciation Night on Wednesday, May 6. As the soccer season progresses, the Aztex Soccer Foundation will expand, and will also partner with like-minded organizations that use soccer as the primary vehicle for giving back to the Austin community.
