Aztex Take on Whitecaps FC 2 in Season Finale

VANCOUVER (August 19, 2015)- The Austin Aztex (9-15-3) close out their inaugural regular season on a winning note with a Sunday afternoon matchup on the road versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (8-13-6).

The Aztex will also look to draw the season series even, as they fell 3-0 to the Whitecaps 2 during their previous meeting all the way back on April 1 at House Park. Both teams are tied in the standings with 30 points apiece, so the Aztex will have their shot at redemption while making their final push to finish as high in the standings as possible.

Trevin Caesar leads the Aztex attack with nine goals on the season, including a strike in Thursday's match versus Sounders FC 2. Joining Caesar in attach are wingers Kris Tyrpak and Romain Gall. Tyrpak is second in the team with eight goals scored while Gall has scored two goals and added an assist in the last three games.

Vancouver will look to counter with their attacking duo of Caleb Clarke and Marco Bustos, tied for the team lead with with seven goals scored apiece. The Aztex will looks to their midfield and backline to prevent Clarke and Bustos from making their mark of the game. Aztex defender Fernando Timbo has been ruled a game time decision after he left Thursday's match due to apparent injury, yet the emergence of Crew SC loanee Sergio Campbell provides added depth to Paul Dalglish's squad. Aztex goalkeeper Cody Laurendi will continue to fill in for goalkeeper for the Aztex, having played the last five matches for the squad.
