Harrisburg, PA (September 19, 2015) - Though hopes of keeping the inaugural Keystone Derby Cup seemed out of reach after half when Pittsburgh took a two-goal lead, USL playoff hopes stayed alive until the final whistle blew.

Despite an equally matched first-half Pittsburgh opened up the scoring in the 33rd and again in the 34th minutes when Matshidiso Moloto slotted a pass from Rob Vincent past Nick Noble's reach to the far post. Immediately afterwards, Kevin Kerr was able to punish the Islanders off of a cross from Dantas Vinicius giving the Hounds a 2-0 lead and energy to finish the first-half with confidence.

The second-half momentum looked to be in the Islanders favor as they relentlessly kept pressure on the Riverhound's goalkeeper Calle Brown thanks to Philadelphia Union loanee Antoine Hoppenot, Jason Plumhoff and the early second-half substitution of Garret Pettis.

After several missed opportunities in the box Hoppenot was finally to convert in the 75th minute when Pettis slotted a perfect ball through the Pittsburgh defense inches away from the goal line.

From the 75th minute on the Islanders outshot the Riverhounds 9 to 6, but were unable to find the equalizer.

With the 2-1 victory tonight the Pittsburgh Riverhounds were able to win the 2015 Keystone Derby Cup, as well as place in the 2015 USL Playoffs. We would like to thank the Riverhounds for an exciting inaugural series to kick off what will surely be a historic rivalry.

The Islanders organization would also like to thank the owners, coaches, players, front office staff and fans for all of their support throughout the 2015 season. We look forward to what the 2016 season has in store for this organization.
