Fenton, MO (September 19, 2015) - In front of a record crowd at Worldwide Technology Soccer Park Louisville City FC (14-8-6, 48 points) could not hold onto the early 1-0 lead and fell 2-1 to Saint Louis FC (8-11-9, 33 points). Louisville had already clinched second place in the Eastern Conference and a bye in the upcoming playoffs, but finish the season on a three-game losing streak.

Louisville created a number of chances in the first four minutes of the match, but only had a couple of corners to show for their efforts. Matt Fondy had a great chance in the second minute but his shot somehow deflected off the shoulder of Saint Louis FC keeper Alex Riggs.

It wouldn't be much longer before the visitors did breakthrough, and it would be Fondy who set up the goal. The forward delivered a great ball into the box where Magnus Rasmussen would make a brilliant decision to dummy the ball, leaving it for Niall McCabe to slam it into the back of the net. Just 11 minutes into the match Louisville had the 1-0 lead.

Scott Goodwin made a number of good saves before being beaten by Jamiel Hardware in the 42nd minute. Goodwin got his hands on it, but Hardware was able to regain control and sneak a shot just over the leg of Bryan Burke for the equalizer.

Louisville City was awarded a free kick from 18-yards out in first half stoppage time, but Rasmussen's shot went right into the wall leaving the clubs level at the break.

Louisville earned several free kicks in dangerous areas and corner kicks throughout the second half, but it would be Saint Louis who would come up with the go ahead goal. Tarek Morad went for the tackle but Hardware made a touch that Louisville's Burke was unable to clear. Instead the ball went right into the path of a charging Kingsley Bryce who beat Goodwin to give the hosts the lead.

Immediately after the goal Louisville got a chance to level the match with another free kick from inside of 20-yards. The shot was curling into the upper-90 but Saint Louis keeper Alex Riggs leapt to his left to get his paws on it and kept his team in the lead.

Despite the loss Louisville City FC fans had something to celebrate tonight as Matt Fondy clinched the Golden Boot and the all-time single season scoring record with 22 goals.

Louisville will take on the winner of Charleston-Richmond on Saturday, October 3rd. The Eastern Conference semi-final match at Louisville Slugger Field is set to kickoff at 7:30.
