Potomac Nationals News Release
(WOODBRIDGE, VA) - The Potomac Nationals will pay tribute to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Services with Military Appreciation Night presented by: Reality Realty on Friday, June 22nd as the P-Nats host the Winston Salem Dash (Chicago White Sox) at 7:05pm. Military Appreciation Night at Pfitzner Stadium will receive additional support from InsideNova, MilitaryByOwner.com, Success Promotions, and Priority Financial/Genuine Title.
"It is amazing all the support we are receiving from sponsors, the Hope For Warriors and the USO in putting on this one of kind night on June 22nd." added Potomac Nationals General Manager Josh Olerud. "When we put this together we were hoping to have the resources to get 1,000 military and family members out here for a special night but it is turning into an amazing night with over 3,000 anticipated members in attendance that night. We will be honoring all in attendance including a large group of Wounded Warriors to say thanks for everything they have done and what they continue to do."
The P-Nats have teamed up with Hope For The Warriors and the USO to pack The Pfitz in a way that will express gratitude for the great sacrifices made on a daily basis by the US Military on behalf of the American people. Representatives from both organizations will be on hand to assist in saluting our community's courageous military members and celebrating the achievements of our armed forces.
"We want to encourage everyone to come out to the P-Nats game and help show your support for our troops and their families!" stated Elaine Rogers, President and CEO of USO of Metropolitan Washington. "For USO-Metro, the Potomac Nationals sure know how to hit a homerun when it comes to supporting our military members and their families!"
Activities planned for Military Appreciation Night include: a live band, a pre-game fly-over by a US Coast Guard helicopter, an Honor Guard presentation of our nation's colors, an in-game tribute to past and present hometown heroes, and a 50/50 raffle. For information on how to receive tickets from USO-Metro please go to www.usometro.org/tickets
All branches of the armed services will be honored during Military Appreciation Night and with the help of the USO over 1,000 tickets will be going to military families directly for the event. The P-Nats will also hold 500 of the sponsored tickets at the stadium for military members with proof of a valid current or retired Military ID. Military may walk up to the P-Nats ticket office beginning Friday, May 18th to claim these complimentary tickets (limited four tickets per ID) until the 500 run out. Once the first 500 tickets have been provided to our local military community, $5 grandstand tickets will be available to armed services members and their dependents until the night of Tuesday, June 22nd.
With respect to the mass of military on hand for Military Appreciation Night, the P-Nats encourage your business or organization to get involved with this commemorative evening of baseball at a sponsorship level or by bringing a group or picnic out to the ballpark. Sponsorships for Military Appreciation Night include: associate presenting rights, print advertising exposure, public address announcements, video board recognition, a tabling opportunity, as well as bulk tickets provided to Quantico/Fort Belvoir and a cash donation made in your company's name to Hope For The Warriors.
