(Idaho Falls) - Adrian De Horta tossed four shutout innings and Mario Sanjur drove in three runs as the Owlz (7-14) shutout the Chukars (12-9), 7-0, on Thursday night at Melaleuca Field in Idaho Falls.

Adrian De Horta made his Owlz debut, tossing four shutout innings in the starts.

The Owlz opened the scoring in the second inning. In his first plate appearance with the Owlz, Kiki Menendez walked on four pitches. Mario Sanjur then singled to right-center and the throw to third went into the dugout, scoring Menendez, giving the Owlz a 1-0 lead. Cam Williams then upped the Owlz lead to 2-0 with a single to center, scoring Sanjur.

With two outs in the third inning, Tim Millard laced a single to left and then advanced second on a Mitch Spires single. After a Melendez walked to load the bases, Sanjur pulled a singled to left, scoring two runs, extending the lead to 4-0. Tim Millard added to the lead in the fifth by cranking a solo home run to center, his team leading fourth of the year. After a Spires single, Menendez doubled to right-center, scoring Spires. Sanjur capped off the inning with a RBI double and the Owlz led 7-0.

The Owlz' bullpen took care of the rest as Matt Leon, Tyler Smith, and Kyle Tyler combined for five shutout innings. Matt Leon (1-0) earned the win while Kris Bubic (0-1) was charged with the loss. The Owlz and Chukars finish the series on Friday at 7:15 at Melaleuca Field as Cole Duensing makes the start for the Owlz against Connor Mayes.
