Coco Montes extended his hitting streak to 17 games, but the Grand Junction Rockies fell to the Ogden Raptors 14-5 Thursday night at Suplizio Field.

Montes finished with three hits, giving him 38 hits and 11 multi-hit games this season, raising his batting average to .481, but the Rockies couldn't overcome a 15-hit, eight walk Raptors onslaught.

Montes helped setup the Rockies first run in the first inning when he doubled Daniel Montano to third before Niko Decolati's RBI ground out, but the Raptors evened the game in the second and took the lead with a six run third inning, capped by Jair Camargo's grand slam. The Rockies took advantage of two Ogden errors in the bottom of the inning to get within two, but didn't score again. Miguel doubled home a pair in the sixth to make it 9-5, and Camargo capped a 5-run eighth inning with a bases clearing double.

The loss drops the Rockies to 9-12 on the season, while the Raptors improve to 14-7 after winning their 10th game in 11 tries.

Vargas finished with three hits and four RBI.
