Voyagers Blitz Missoula with Big Inning

Great Falls, MT - The Voyagers sent 10 men to the plate in a six-run 7th inning to fuel an 8-5 comeback win over Missoula Thursday night at Centene Stadium.

Great Falls (12-9) is now 9-2 at home this season, and 4-0 at home against the Osprey. The Voyagers are 4-3 against Missoula (11-10) in the overall season series. The Osprey have lost three straight and are 3-8 on the road. Great Falls and Helena are tied for first in the Pioneer League North Division standings.

Missoula led 3-0 going to the bottom of the 4th inning. With one out, Adam McGinnis put Great Falls on the board with a solo home run high and deep to left. It was the third big fly of the season for McGinnis.

The Osprey made it 4-1 with a single tally in the top of the 7th before the Voyagers offense kicked it into high gear in the home half. Adam McGinnis led off the inning and reached on an infield error. Ryan Fitzpatrick singled to right. Maiker Feliz cut the lead in half with an RBI single to right-center. Jimmy Galusky loaded the bases with a hit-by-pitch. Ian Dawkins followed with an RBI hit-by-pitch that closed the gap to one. Lenyn Sosa then tied it with an RBI single to right. Logan Sowers gave Great Falls its first lead with a two-run base hit grounded up the middle into center. Alex Destino put the Voyagers ahead 7-4 with a two-out RBI single to right-center.

The Voyagers scored an unearned run in the 8th for an 8-4 cushion. Missoula scored once in the 9th and had two men on with the tying run at the plate when the game ended.

Missoula outhit Great Falls 14-to-10. Jesus Marriaga and Eddie Hernandez both posted three-hit games for the Osprey. Zac Almond drove in two. For the Voyagers, Logan Sowers collected two hits and two RBIs. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Maiker Feliz each had two hits. Feliz drove in a run and scored twice.

Lane Ramsey picked up the win in relief. Ramsey (2-0) worked three-and-two-thirds and gave up just one earned run on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Tyler Jandron suffered the loss. Jandron (1-2) did not record an out in the 7th and surrendered five runs (four earned) on two hits with two hit batters. Devon Perez made his Voyagers debut and notched his first save. Perez pitched the final two innings and allowed one earned run on three hits with one strikeout and one walk.
