Owlz Come up Short in Extra Innings

The Owlz fell in extra innings, 6-5, to the Ogden Raptors in game two of their series Thursday night.

After the Raptors took the lead in the first inning the Owlz tied the game in the third. Michael Hermosillo scored off a sacrifice fly from Wendell Soto.

Then in the fourth inning the Owlz took the lead for the first time in the game. Fran Whitten doubled on a ground ball down the first baseline to score Zach Houchins. Raul Linares added to the lead with a sacrifice fly to score Michael Strentz.

Ogden took the lead againin the fifth inning, scoring three runs that included a solo homerun by Theo Alexander.

In the seventh inning, with two outs, the Owlz rallied to score two runs to retake the lead. Soto and Bo Way scored on throwing errors to first.

The Raptors tied the game in the eighth inning off a solo home run by Justin Chigbogu.

Unable to score in the ninth inning the Owlz went to extra innings for the first time this season.

In the 10th inning Ogden, with 2 outs, took the lead on a double hit down the left field line.

The Owlz were unable to get a rally going with two outs after Whitten singled to right field.

Way, Strentz, and Whitten each went 2-for-5 on the night.

The Owlz will play the Raptors again Friday in game three of a four game series at 7:05.
