Ogden Raptors News Release
In their second extra-inning game in three days, the Ogden Raptors took the Orem Owlz to 10 innings and won 6-5 Thursday night at Brent Brown Ballpark.
Tied 5-5 entering the tenth, Cody Bellinger singled to left field to start the inning. After a flyout and a foul out, Ivan Vela hit a double down the left-field line. Bellinger scored from first to give the Raptors the lead.
A.J. Vanegas pitched a scoreless 10th to preserve the win, the first of his career.
After allowing two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh for Orem to take the lead, the Raptors tied the game in the eighth. With one out, Justin Chigbogu hit a solo homer to left field, tying the game 5-5. Chigbogu's home run was his 12th of the season, tying him with Billings' Aristides Aquino, who also homered Thursday, for the league lead.
Also hitting a home run for Ogden was Theo Alexander. The right fielder hit a solo homer to lead off the fifth inning, his second of the season.
The Raptors and Owlz continue their four-game series Friday. Jose De Leon takes the mound for Ogden against Angel Guerra. Game starts at 7:05 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
