EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), seven-time U.S. Division champion and two-time Western Conference champion of the Western Hockey League, announced today that over 3,000 quantities of new and packaged underwear, socks, and additional men's and women's essentials have been collected through Undie Sunday presented by E.S.C. Mattress Center, and will be distributed through Cocoon House and Clothes For Kids to local homeless, at-risk, and underprivileged kids and teens throughout Snohomish County.

"The mission of Undie Sunday was carried out effectively by our devoted fan base and dedicated front office in a relentless effort to make a difference for those in need this holiday season," said Zoran Rajcic, chief operating officer of Consolidated Sports Holdings. "This is designed to be more than just a billboard community event in our second full month of the season. It's a concentrated effort by everyone in this region, extended through our partners at E.S.C. Mattress Center, Cocoon House and Clothes For Kids, to put clothing items into the hands of lives throughout the Puget Sound. We're thrilled to report tremendous results in carrying out that mission."

"We are happy that we could help great charities like Clothes for Kids and Cocoon House who do so much good in our local community, by sponsoring this event," said E.S.C. Mattress Center co-owner Joshua Rigsby.

Fans were asked to deliver clothing donations at the doors of Angel of the Winds Arena before the Silvertips home game on Sunday, Nov. 17 when the Silvertips defeated the Spokane Chiefs, 2-0. The event was the second in Silvertips history, hosted in downtown Everett, and solicited donations of underwear, boxers, additional undergarments, and socks to distribute to local kids and teens in need for the holiday season.

Event information was distributed electronically by the Silvertips and carried out through local television coverage.

Tickets for Undie Sunday began at $17 and each ticket purchase automatically generated a monetary donation from the Silvertips to deliver a new gift to one child or teen for the holiday season.

This past weekend, the Silvertips drew over 11,000 fans to Angel of the Winds Arena for two games against Winnipeg and Spokane.
