After a scoreless first ten minutes of play, Simon Kubicek broke through on the power play to give the Thunderbirds a 1-0 advantage. Shortly after, Jackson Leppard created a turnover behind the net and sent a pass in front to Brad Ginnell who tapped in his 8th of the season to even things up at one.

The second period saw a 1-1 one draw for the first six minutes. Isaac Johnson drove the net and slid a nice pass over to Jackson Leppard who deposited the puck between the Thunderbird goaltenders pads to give the ICE a 2-1 lead. The ICE would hang onto that lead after 40 minutes of play.

The ICE scored early in the third as Michal Teply scored his first of two on the night. The Thunderbirds scored shortly after to bring them back within one as Morozoff got one past Makaj. 20 seconds later, Teply scored his second of the night to restore the ICE two goal lead. Reece Harsch capped off the night against his former team in his 200th career Western Hockey League game with an empty netter to solidify the victory.

Jesse Makaj finished the night with 26 saves on 28 shots.
