
Outlaws Fall 13-6 in Tucson; Give Up Season High 13 Runs

(Tucson, AZ. June 19th, 2010) The Chico Outlaws gave up a season high 13 runs and 17 hits and fell in Tucson to the Toros by a score of 13-6.
The Outlaws used a three run first inning to get things started, capped by a Mike Rose solo homerun, his seventh on the year. Blake Gailen, who went 3 for 4, with a double and an RBI, also extended his hit streak to 12 games with his double in the first inning.
Tucson got an RBI double from second baseman Brian Bistagne in the second inning to make the score 3-1.
Chico also got two unearned runs in the fourth after a throwing error by Toros third baseman Wally Backman Jr on a Demetrius Banks dribbler up the line scored Alex Prieto, who walked to lead off the inning. Banks made it to third base on the error and then got home on a Gailen sac fly to make the score 5-1 Outlaws.
Tucson then got 11 combined runs in the fourth and fifth innings to blow by the Outlaws and take control of the game. Left fielder Lino Garcia was 3 for 5, double, two runs scored and 2 RBIs in the game, while Bistagne went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs to pace the Toros hit parade.
Both the Outlaws and Toros scored runs in the sixth inning to cap the scoring and make the final tally of 13-6.
Demetrius Banks (3-1) took the loss for the Outlaws, going three and a third innings, giving up six runs, five earned, on nine hits, walking three and striking out four. Matt Lincoln (1-3) collected his first win of the year, pitching six innings for the decision.
David Dinelli, Jesse Oster and Josh Dew all pitched in relief for Chico, who fell to 19-6 on the year. Tucson is now 13-14 for the season.
The game, at 3 hours, 22 minutes, was the longest nine-inning game played by the Outlaws this season.
The Outlaws take on the Toros in Tucson at Hi Corbett Field again on Sunday night on Father's Day. Rightie Javier Ortiz starts for Chico opposite leftie Cody Walden for the Toros. Game time is 7:00 pm.
