Erie Otters News Release

Erie, PA - The new-look Erie Otters were unable to solve J.P. Anderson in his Sarnia Sting debut, as the Otters were shutout by the Sting Friday night at Tullio Arena, 4-0.

The Sting got on the board late in the first period as Connor Murphy and Ryan Spooner each tallied their first goals in Sting uniforms.

Craig Hottot then potted home his 14th goal of the season in the second period to give the Sting a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Spooner then added his second goal of the game in the third period to complete Sarnia's 4-0 win over the Otters, who had won the previous two meetings between the teams.

Anderson had 30 saves in his Sarnia debut. Dane Fox and Troy Donnay, each acquired by Erie on Thursday from the London Knights, made their Otters debuts.

The Otters return to Tullio Arena Saturday night, when the Kitchener Rangers come into town for Guns and Hoses Night. See two games for the price of one when Erie police, fire and EMT workers battle it out at 3:30 p.m. to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children.
