
Otters rout Redcoats

Evansville Otters News Release
The Evansville Otters pounded out 17 hits led by three each from Denver Stuckey, Steve Martin, and Trask Munoz as the Otters defeated the Ohio Valley Redcoats 14-0 in their home opener in front of 6,670 fans.
Evansville scored in every inning except the first and the eighth. After the Otters scored a single run in the second inning, Brian McKenna got the ball rolling with a three run homer in the third. Evansville then put up four in the fourth, three more in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Andre Simpson (1-0) picked up the win for Evansville. Andrew Jefferson went the final three innings to pick up his first save of the year. Starter Tom Cochran took the loss for the Redcoats.
It was a big night all around for the Evansville franchise. The team welcomed the one millionth fan in team history, Paul Johnson, into the ballpark. The Otters are the first team in Frontier League history to reach the one million mark. The team currently stands at 1,002,991 fans who have come through the turnstiles as Evansville begins its 11th season in Frontier League play.
The Otters and Redcoats continue the series tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. with Chris Pillsbury taking the mound for Evansville against Ty Kline for Ohio Valley. Sunday is youth baseball night. All little league players who show up at Bosse Field in their jersey will get into the game for free.
