
Wild Things Beat Roosters

Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA â The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Richmond Roosters 8-3 Saturday at Falconi Field in Front of 2,616 people.
The game was delayed about 30 minutes due to the inclement weather.
Falconi Field resembled a homecoming game with four former Wild Things players on the Richmond roster. OF Joe Cuervo ('02-'03), RHP Grant Dorn ('04), LHP Jared Howton ('02-'03), and 3B Blake Woods ('03) returned to sit in the third base dugout of Falconi Field.
The Roosters scored first in the fifth inning when Joe Rhomberg and Joe Cuervo scored.
The Wild Things came back to score five runs in the sixth inning. Randy McGarvey and Chris Carter scored. T.J. Graves and David Reaver were on base when Bruce Baldwin homered.
In the eighth inning Josh Hollingsworth hit a Rooster home run, bringing the score to 6-3. But the Wild Things came back in the eighth with two more runs.
Former Wild Things Cuervo was three for five with one run, and Blake Woods was one for two.
Brian Burks got the victory, pitching six innings â allowing eight hits two runs and striking out three. Fred Moses takes the loss for the Roosters.
The Wild Things meet the Roosters at Falconi Field for the second game in their three game series. The first 1000 fans through the gates for Sunday's game will receive a rally towel, courtesy Dad's Petcare. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Tickets are available.
