Otters outlast Sting for win

SARNIA, Ont. - Brandon Biggers scored the only goal of the game 1:56 into overtime and Jaroslav Janus made 48 saves as the Erie Otters beat the Sarnia Sting 1-0 in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight at the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre. Dan Spence made 40 save in a losing effort for the Sting. Erie improved to 32-28-3-1 with the win, their second straight, and climbed to within three points of Sarnia for sixth in the Western Conference. The Sting dropped to 32-26-3-3 with the loss. The Sting out shot the Otters 48-41 in the game. The three stars of the game were 1. Janus; 2. Spence and 3. Biggers.

The Otters continue a three-game road trip tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2 p.m. in Kitchener against the Rangers. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 1:45 p.m.

The next Otters home games take place Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th. Saturday, March 14th it's the Otters and the Kitchener Rangers in a 7 p.m. start at the Tullio Arena. All fans into the game will receive a free menu item courtesy of Taco Bell. Sunday, March 15th it's the Otters and the Guelph Storm in a special 4:30 p.m. start. It's Fan Appreciation Day presented by Erie Business Center and Green Prosthetics as the Otters celebrate St. Patrick's Day by wearing green jerseys and the two teams will compete on green ice!
