
Otters homers not enough

Evansville Otters News Release
The Rockford RiverHawks scored four runs in the fifth inning, doubling for four of their five hits as they went on to defeat the Evansville Otters 8-5.
The Otters got on the board in the top of the first inning on a leadoff homer by Steve Martin. Rockford countered with a two-run blast of their own off the bat of Aaron McEachran to give Rockford a lead they would not relinquish.
The game would remain 2-1 until the fifth when the RiverHawks would score four runs on five hits. Evansville came back to score one in the sixth to make it 6-2, but Rockford would answer with two more to make it 8-2.
Evansville got solo homers from Jud Kindle and Cole Hilt to pull closer, but Jason Glosser came in to shut the door in the ninth giving Rockford the win.
Bryan Shartzer (2-1) took the loss for the Otters. Justin Olson (2-1) got the win for the RiverHawks.
Game three of the series is tomorrow night with Brian Kroll (1-1) going for the Otters against Kevin Crowley (0-1) who will start for Rockford. The game can be heard on 91.5 WUEV. Wednesday's game starts at 7:05 p.m
