Otters Going for Series Win vs. Rascals

(EVANSVILLE INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters (44-28) end a six-game homestand with the series finale against the River City Rascals (45-29) on Monday night.

First pitch is set for6:35 pm CDT at historic Bosse Field in Evansville Indiana. Fans can call 812-435-8686 to purchase tickets.

Fans not going to the game can listen live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 6:15 pm CDT.

It is Deaconess Family Night and Back to School Night at Bosse Field.

Evansville will have RHP Connor Little on the hill (team debut) in the final game of the series on Monday. River City will counter with righty Tim Koons (3-3, 5.79 ERA).

The Otters won the first game of the series against River City with a 10-4 victory on Saturday night. Evansville struck out 15 River City hitters on the night including 11 from starter Preston Olson. Infielder Shayne Houck was 3-for-4 with three runs batted in.

Evansville then lost the middle game of the series 11-4 on Sunday evening. Catcher Kolin Conner and outfielder Jeremy Nowak both had two hits each in the loss.

River City leads the overall series matchup 87-73 but Evansville has won three of five meetings this season and 12 of the last 14 meetings overall.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Houck is on an 11 game hitting streak for the Otters. Outfielder Jeremy Nowak and John Schultz have both hit safely in six straight.

The Otters are 24-15 at home this season and 3-2 on the current homestand.
