Evansville Otters News Release
Evansville, Ind. - Evansville took a 3-0 lead in the middle innings but could not hold on late as Windy City handed them their fifth consecutive loss 7-4 on Saturday night at Bosse Field.
Windy City scored two runs in the sixth and eighth innings to tie the game before pushing across three in the ninth inning which proved to be the difference.
On the mound Dustin Renfrow made a spot start and was fantastic, going the first five innings striking out five and allowing only two hits. The usually strong Otters bull pen was not on Saturday night, giving up eight hits and allowing all seven runs covering the final four innings. Evansville managed 10 hits of their own as Gered Mochizuki, Alex Fonseca and Jose Pineda all had multi-hit nights to lead the Otters.
Evansville heads back to the field on Sunday evening, trying to salvage one out of the three game series as first pitch is slated for 6:05 CDT.
