Miners Announce Game Times For Potential Playoff Home Games

MARION, Ill. - The Southern Illinois Miners have set times for potential home games in the 2008 Frontier League Playoffs. Earlier this week the Miners clinched the first playoff berth in team history.
If the Miners win the West Division title, they will open the first round of the playoffs at Rent One Park on Friday, Sept. 5. If the Miners enter the playoffs as one of the two wildcards, then they will open the playoffs with two road games before returning home for Game 3 on Monday, Sept. 8. Both rounds of the playoffs are best-of-five series. The full schedule of potential playoff games and times is listed below.
First Round
Game 1 Friday, Sept. 5 7:05
Game 2 Saturday, Sept. 6 1:05
Game 3 Monday, Sept. 8 7:05
Game 4 Tuesday, Sept 9 7:05 (if necessary)
Game 5 Thursday, Sept 11 7:05 (if necessary)
Second Round
Game 1 Saturday, Sept. 13 7:05

The first place Miners will take on River City tonight in the final home three-game series of the regular season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. It will be Turn Back the Clock Night. The Miners will wear throwback uniforms honoring the 1948 Illinois State League Champion West Frankfort Cardinals. The jerseys will be auctioned off on the field following the game.
